Dancenplay Persians is closed indefinitely.

Closing the cattery was one of the hardest decisions I have made & there were many factors. I was torn between preserving a breed I love & the cold facts of the world of cats in general. I truly believe in keeping great purebred bloodlines going & always striving to improve the gene pool BUT the terrible state of cats in general weighed heavy on my decision. As the people I know who do rescue will attest to, the problem of cat abuse & neglect is growing worse every day. Every cat deserves to be loved & cared for. I even had an issue were one of my purebred babies was misused & abandoned. Thankfully he was rescued & is happy & healthy with a wonderful home now, but it made my responsibility to the kittens born here seem overwhelming. It is heartbreaking to see how many ads there are for cats who need homes & to hear stories of abandoned & abused cats & kittens. I had many heartaches in the past few years but the love of the cats & their babies made me keep going. In the end, it was becoming increasing hard to find quality homes for my kittens & that told me it was time to stop. I hope someday the world will be a place where every kitten born is loved & cared for. A place where breeders can be absolutely sure that their babies are placed in the best possible homes... because they all are! I feel lucky in that I am confident that all my cats are now in great homes. Maybe someday I will breed the wonderful silvers again & I will forever be thankful to the breeders who trusted me & from whose work I benefited from.
